Carin Robinson

Carin Robinson (Ph.D.) has spent the last ten years of her life becoming proficient in the art of abstraction, reduction and argumentation. In other words, she has obtained a doctoral degree in philosophy. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the philosophy department of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where her research is focused on the nature of philosophical empiricism.

One denouement of her relatively recent exposure to the business of food and wine, through her involvement with The Glenwood Bakery and The Glenwood Restaurant, is that Robinson has developed a morbid fascination for social media and the role it evidently plays in the profiling of these businesses. She writes copy for, as well as manages, the social media sites for both these businesses. It is this fascination, as well as her interest in the physical aesthetics and operation of eating places which also presently occupies her.

Her consulting business as a private tutor, tutoring both individuals and groups, in corporate, professional and private environments, draws from her lecturing experience. The difference between lecturing and private tutoring  is that the latter is aimed to meet the exact needs of the client; in terms what, and in exactly what way, they want to learn.

She is for hire not only as a private tutor in philosophy, but also as a copy writer, content writer for social media sites and freelance writer for other types of media. Her full curriculum vita is available on request.
